Theft of Tools from Work Vans

We have seen an increase in the theft of tools from Vans in the Meirionnydd area over the past week. Opportunistic thieves target unlocked work vans in seconds stay safe, lock up and secure your gear before you start the job.

I appreciate it is impractical to remove tools and equipment from work vehicles. In these cases, owners should take extra steps to ensure the safety of their property:

Additional locking mechanism should be fitted to vehicles

Consider a monitored vehicle alarm and tracking devices for valuable property.

Mark and photograph the property and take record of serial numbers, makes and models.

Register your property on immobilise.com This will give you the facility to add photos and record any unique information associated with the property.

Park your vehicle within CCTV view if you have a CCTV system at your home/premises.

Display visible stickers indicating that no tools are left I n the vehicle overnight.

Always report any suspicious activity to NWP on 101
